    1. Me too, Joyce. Except I'd miss the forest, though I'd imagine this village is near the salt water... maybe.

    2. I live near the bay, so it would be perfect for me :)

  2. Wow, that must have been a looooooonnnng phone call! Cool concept. I think there are horses in a stable in the back, near the chickens. And, obviously, swallows under the eaves.

    1. Well, I spent some time finishing it once I hung up, as it was getting kinda fun. I don't even remember what the phone call was about, or who it was. Yes, it does look old world Northern European, doesn't it? Where the proprietors lived upstairs from their business and/or barn in the village and had livestock out back! And maybe a plank over the chicken house where the day's bread dough was rising in the sun. Swallow poop and moist heat from the horses helped the dough rise faster (I'm just making this up as I go along!).

    2. Hmm, I never thought about that, but various materials emit a slow steady warmth while composting. That might be helpful to a baker in really cold winters. Maybe loaves of bread had more farm-y aromas a few hundred years ago!
