Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Tunnel 2

The day was busy, but progress was made.  How did I reserve six to ten hours a day strictly for sculpting once upon a time?

  1. This looks great- I'm looking forward to seeing the finished painting. I hope you get another chance to go to the drumming session!

    1. Thanks! Yes, I hope I do, too. I'm almost finished with the thing, but the more effort I put into it, the more I wonder if I should be painting on serious paper and framing them. It's like I'm not allowing myself to go back to painting, isn't it? It's okay if it's a sketch in a little book... even if it take days to finish it.

    2. Hi, I wonder why we put those rules on ourselves. It seems that a lot of artists refer to plein air paintings as sketches, but then those are shown in galleries and valued as paintings, really. Maybe you could "sketch" on nicer paper, just to have more options later?

    3. Yes, Marian... that would be very freeing. I have way too many boundaries that are way too narrow. Even my therapist years ago couldn't help me sprawl freely across those boundaries. I had to BE one thing or another (i.e either "artist" or "writer"), do one thing or do another. You give me courage when I see you paint/sketch/collage and explore combinations of any of those with abandon. You are so good for me!
